Twilight Tattoo is a free event, no tickets are required. All are welcomed to attend and enjoy our program. Whether you're an individual, a family, or a group, please feel free to join us for a fun-filled evening with your United States Army. If you are sponsoring a school, civic or tour group, please call 202-685-2888 or send us an e-mail. A weather decision will be made by 1 p.m. the day of the Tattoo. Please call the MDW Events Line 202-685-2888 for the official weather decision.

When there is a possibility of inclement weather, Twilight Tattoo performances will move indoors to Conmy Hall on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va. Please note there is a limited seating capacity in Conmy Hall and unfortunately, once that capacity is reached we will not be able to accommodate any more groups, registered or otherwise. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding!


Bleacher seating is available on first-come, first-served basis. Grass seating is also available and we recommend you bring a blanket or lawn chairs.


Twilight Tattoo offers ample opportunities for still photographers and videographers. Patrons are welcome to photograph our Soldiers before, during and after performances.


No pets are allowed.

Meeting the Soldiers

Some of the performers will be there to greet audience members as they arrive, all will be available at the conclusion of the Tattoo to answer any questions and pose for photographs.

Pedestrian access for non-DoD ID holders:

All adults will need to provide valid identification to enter.

Pedestrians may access Fort Myer either at Henry Gate, which is at the intersection of N. Pershing Drive and Arlington Blvd. (Route 50); or Wright Gate at the intersection of N. Meade St. and Marshall Drive. Wright Gate will be accessible until 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., pedestrians can access the installation at Henry Gate. 

If taking the Metro, the total distance from Courthouse Metro to Henry Gate is approximately .8 miles. The total distance from Rosslyn Metro to Wright Gate is approximately one (1) mile.

Walking Instructions:

From Rosslyn Metro to Wright Gate:

Walk south onto Fort Myer Drive for three blocks until Fort Myer Drive turns into N. Meade St. Continue south until you reach intersection of Marshall Drive and Wright Gate.  

Enter Wright Gate and continue west up Marshall Drive where it will turn into Jackson Avenue. Follow Jackson Avenue and make a left onto Sheridan Avenue. Conmy Hall will be on the right across from Caisson Platoon Stables and Sumerall Field is adjacent to Conmy Hall.

From Courthouse Metro to Henry Gate:

Walk south on N. Uhle St. toward 15th St. N. Turn left onto 15th St. N. then turn right onto N. Courthouse Rd. Walk to Arlington Blvd. Trail and take pedestrian tunnel then turn left onto N. Pershing Dr. Henry Gate is adjacent to Summerall Field and Conmy Hall (for inclement weather).

DIRECTIONS TO JOINT BASE MYER-HENDERSON HALL: Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., is located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery.

The gate to enter Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall for Twilight Tattoo is:

  • Hatfield Gate on Washington Blvd. at South 2nd Street -- Main gate, open at all times. The address for Hatfield Gate is 2nd St. S, Fort Myer, VA, 22211.

Inside the Capital Beltway, 1-95 becomes 1-395. Proceed north toward Washington. Take Exit 8A (7 miles inside the Beltway), marked "Washington Blvd., Route 27." Bear left on the ramp, following the signs. Exit Washington Blvd. to the right at the exit marked "Fort Myer Only."

Proceed on 1-66 inside the Capital Beltway. Take exit 64A "Route 495." Exit onto Route 50. Exit Route 50 onto 2nd St. S., continue to Fort Myer's Hatfield Gate.

From I-495, take exit 43-44 for VA-193/George Washington Memorial Parkway/Georgetown Pike toward Great Falls Virginia/Langley/Washington. Take exit 43 for George Washington Memorial Parkway toward Washington. Merge onto George Washington Memorial Parkway. Take the exit toward 1-395 N/Lyndon B. Johnson/Memorial Grove/Pentagon. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for I-395 S and merge onto S. Washington Blvd/Route 27. Merge onto S. Washington Blvd., then take the exit toward Fort Myer's Hatfield Gate.

Take 1-395 out of the city and into Virginia. Pass the Pentagon and take Exit 8A for Washington Blvd. Proceed on Washington Blvd and take exit marked "Fort Myer Only" on the right.
